Returns and Exchanges Policy

Trapsuutjie Linen (Pty) Ltd (Registration Number 2026/463518/07) ("Trapsuutjie", "we", "us")

1. Scope and nature of goods

1.1 All garments supplied by Trapsuutjie are manufactured to order following receipt and confirmation of the customer's order. Stock is not held in advance of sale.

1.2 A size guide is published on this website and forms part of the terms on which goods are sold. Customers are required to consult the size guide prior to placing an order. Enquiries relating to sizing or fit may be directed to steven.trapsuutjie.linen@gmail.com before an order is placed.

2. Manufacturing defects and incorrect items

2.1 Customers are requested to inspect all goods upon delivery.

2.2 Where a garment exhibits a defect in manufacture, or where an incorrect item has been supplied, the customer must notify Trapsuutjie in writing at steven.trapsuutjie.linen@gmail.com within 14 (fourteen) days of delivery, quoting the order number and attaching photographic evidence of the defect.

2.3 Upon acceptance of a claim under clause 2.2, Trapsuutjie shall arrange collection of the garment and bear the cost of return carriage. Trapsuutjie shall thereafter replace or repair the garment at the customer's election. Where neither replacement nor repair is reasonably possible, Trapsuutjie shall refund the purchase price.

2.4 Goods returned without prior written authorisation will not be accepted. A return address is issued with each authorised return and at no other time.

3. Statutory rights

3.1 Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any right conferred on the customer by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 or the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002.

3.2 In terms of section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act, a customer may return goods that fail to satisfy the requirements and standards of section 55 within a period of 6 (six) months from delivery. Claims falling outside the 14-day period specified in clause 2.2 but within this statutory period must be submitted in writing to steven.trapsuutjie.linen@gmail.com and will be assessed on their merits.

3.3 The rights set out in clause 3.2 do not extend to ordinary wear, to deterioration arising from use, or to damage resulting from laundering, drying, pressing or storage otherwise than in accordance with the care instructions supplied with each garment. Softening, creasing and variation in the hand of linen are inherent characteristics of the fabric and do not constitute defects.

4. Size and fit

4.1 Garments are manufactured to order. Returns and exchanges are not accepted on grounds of size or fit.

4.2 Alteration services are available. Requests may be directed to steven.trapsuutjie.linen@gmail.com and are quoted and charged separately from the original purchase.

5. Exclusions

Trapsuutjie does not accept returns in the following circumstances:

(a) goods returned without prior written authorisation in terms of clause 2.4;

(b) goods that have been worn, laundered or altered by any party other than Trapsuutjie;

(c) returns on grounds of change of mind;

(d) returns on grounds of size or fit, save as required by law.

6. International orders

6.1 Where goods are delivered to an address outside the Republic of South Africa, claims in respect of manufacturing defects or incorrect items must be submitted in accordance with clause 2.2, accompanied by photographic evidence sufficient to permit assessment of the defect.

6.2 Trapsuutjie may, at its sole discretion and prior to determining any claim under clause 6.1, require the customer to:

(a) submit further photographic or video evidence of the garment;

(b) return the garment to an address nominated by Trapsuutjie, in which event Trapsuutjie shall bear the cost of return carriage; or

(c) make the garment available for collection or for physical inspection by a representative of Trapsuutjie at a mutually convenient time and place, where Trapsuutjie has a representative in the destination country.

6.3 Where a claim is accepted, Trapsuutjie shall refund the purchase price. Save where Trapsuutjie has exercised its rights under clause 6.2(b) or 6.2(c), the garment need not be returned.

6.4 Where a claim is not accepted, no refund is payable and the garment remains with the customer.

6.5 Trapsuutjie does not arrange or fund international return carriage otherwise than in terms of clause 6.2(b).

6.6 Import duties, taxes and customs charges levied by the authorities of the destination country are for the customer's account and are not refundable by Trapsuutjie.

7.2 Goods cancelled under clause 7.1 must be unworn, unlaundered and returned in their original packaging. Return carriage is for the customer's account save where the garment is defective.

7.3 Notice of cancellation must be given in writing to steven.trapsuutjie.linen@gmail.com.
